David Reed returns to practice, Heap practices in full

The Ravens got their top kickoff returner back at practice today.

David Reed returned to practice this afternoon after missing all of last week as he recovered from a concussion. The rookie returner/wide receiver practiced in a limited capacity, but the fact that he was able to get back on the practice field at all is a good sign.

Another good sign for the Ravens is that tight end Todd Heap had a full practice as he works back from a hamstring injury. Heap has missed the last two games, but head coach John Harbaugh said on Monday that he's optimistic that Heap will be able to suit up on Sunday against the Bengals.

Four Ravens did not practice today - center Matt Birk (knee), linebacker Prescott Burgess (illness), linebacker Tavares Gooden (shoulder), and safety Tom Zbikowski (back).

Wide receiver Derrick Mason (ankle/abs) and tight end Dennis Pitta (concussion) both had a full practice.

For the Bengals, three starters missed practice, including star wide receiver Chad Ochocinco (ankle).

The other two starters to sit out were tight end Jermaine Gresham (knee) and cornerback Johnathan Joseph (ankle).
