It looks like the Ravens won't have to spend any more time this week preparing for Chad Ochocinco. The Bengals wide receiver apparently won't be playing in his team's regular season finale here in Baltimore.
According to the Bengals' official Twitter account, Ochocinco's ankle injury will prevent him from playing Sunday. The tweet sent out by the team says that the six-time Pro Bowl won't be making the trip to Baltimore with his team.
In the short term, this means that the Ravens won't have to face either Ochocinco or fellow wide receiver Terrell Owens this Sunday. Owens is out for the year with a knee injury.
Don't take the absence of Cincinnati's top two wideouts to mean that they can't move the ball, however. Without Ochocinco and Owens last week, the Bengals put up 371 total yards and 34 points.
Taking a broader view of the situation, the Ravens might not see Ochocinco in a Bengals jersey again.
A frustrating season for the Bengals and for Ochocinco personally has led some to believe that the team might be cutting ties with the longtime face (and voice) of their organization.
