It’s the wrist which is still bothering him, and Reed says he’ll probably have to undergo surgery to repair damaged ligaments during the offseason.
For now, he doesn’t seem optimistic about his ability to play at his full ability on Sunday.
“I want to play,” said Reed, who is wearing a brace on the wrist. “It all depends on the coaches. I can’t really catch the way I want to.”
Reed averaged a league-best 29.3 yards per kick return this season, but for him to return kickoffs the rest of the way out, the Ravens would have to be sure that he could hold onto the ball and switch it comfortably between hands.
That’s something that Reed admits that he probably wouldn’t be able to do.
“It’s up to the coaches, really,” Reed said. “If they want me to do kickoff coverage, I could do that.”
