A report from the kansas City Star's Kent Babb says that Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe did not participate during the open media portion of practice today.
Bowe led the league with 15 touchdown receptions this year, and if he's unable to play Sunday against the Ravens or is limited, the Baltimore secondary could breathe a mini sigh of relief.
Adding intrigue to the situation is that the Chiefs signed wide receiver Kevin Curtis today.
Curtis, an eight-year veteran, posted 1,110 receiving yards as part of the Eagles in 2007. He battled testicular cancer the last couple years, and has only played in five games in the last two seasons.
Of course, Bowe's absence from practice could be nothing at all.
We'll get word on Bowe's status from Chiefs head coach Todd Haley when we talk to him on a conference call here in a bit.
UPDATE: Haley said that Bowe has an illness which kept him out of today's session.
"He'll be listed on the injury report as [having an] illness," Haley said.
The Chiefs' head coach declined to speculate on whether Bowe's illness would threaten his ability to play on Sunday.
"All I can go by is today, and today he was unable to practice," Haley said.
