Ed Reed back practicing, kind of

After missing yesterday’s practice because of a shoulder injury, safety Ed Reed was back out there today, participating in Friday’s afternoon session.

Kind of.

Reed took part in a walk-through during an abbreviated open media portion of practice, but he did not appear to have his helmet with him on the field. It’s unclear whether Reed was planning on participating in any drills requiring a helmet, but it didn’t appear he was prepared to do so.

Still, the fact that the All-Pro safety was back on the practice field at all is a good sign that he’ll play this Sunday against the Cardinals.

Cornerback Danny Gorrer (thigh) was in uniform today but did not appear to be participating in practice.

Not present were wide receiver Lee Evans (ankle), guard Ben Grubbs (toe), linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (hamstring) and running back Anthony Allen (thigh).
