Grubbs, Kindle inactive for Ravens

Lee Evans apparently didn’t benefit from the bye week too much, as the wide receiver’s ankle injury is still holding him out of today’s game against the Texans.

Same deal with Ben Grubbs.

Grubbs is one of the Ravens’ seven gameday inactives today, marking the fourth straight game that Baltimore’s starting left guard has missed a game because of a toe injury.

Andre Gurode will get the start in Grubbs’ place.

After making his NFL debut two weeks ago, linebacker Sergio Kindle will be back on the sidelines today. The first-year man out of Texas is inactive again today.

Three Ravens are returning to the lineup today after missing time with injuries. Wide receiver/kick returner David Reed, safety Haruki Nakamura and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe all are back today.

Here’s the full list of Ravens’ inactives: cornerbacks Jimmy Smith and Chris Carr, safety Tom Zbikowski, Grubbs, tackle Mark LeVoir, Evans and Sergio Kindle.

For the Texans, wide receiver Andre Johnson and fullback James Casey are inactive, as expected. Jacoby Jones will start for Johnson while veteran fullback Lawrence Vickers will get the starting nod in place of Casey.

Here’s the full list of Texans’ inactives: quarterback T.J. Yates, wide receiver Trindon Holliday, cornerback Brandon Harris, guard Thomas Austin, tackle Andrew Gardner, Johnson and Casey.

The Ravens are in their purple jerseys and white pants today, while the Texans are in white jerseys and blue pants.
