UPDATE: Lewis is officially one of the Ravens' seven inactives tonight, meaning he will not suit up.
Lewis missed last Sunday's game against the Bengals, but he returned to practice in a limited capacity each day this week. Still, the 12-time Pro Bowler apparently is not healthy enough to suit up for tonight's battle against San Francisco.
Also inactive for the Ravens today is linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, who started in Lewis' place on Sunday. Ellerbe has yet again suffered a setback to his injured hamstring, and he will not play tonight.
That means special teams ace Brendon Ayanbadejo, who has not started a game at linebacker since 2009, and has started only one game since 2007, will get the nod tonight.
Wide receiver/kick returner David Reed is active tonight after being benched last week. Reed lost two fumbles two weeks ago against Seattle.
It will be interesting to see if he's back deep to return the kicks tonight.
Here are the Ravens' inactives: LB Ray Lewis, ILB Dannell Ellerbe, CB Chris Carr, WR Tandon Doss, OLB Sergio Kindle, RB Anthony Allen, DE Arthur Jones.
Here are the 49ers' scratches: QB Scott Tolzien, WR Brett Swain, CB Shawntae Spencer, FB Bruce Miller, G Daniel Kilgore, G Mike Person, NG Ian Williams.
In less newsy matters, John and Jim Harbaugh met up at midfield a little over an hour prior to kickoff, and the two brothers shared a big hug and posed for a picture with their parents.
The Harbaugh clan got absolutely mobbed by cameras, and eventually, the Ravens' public relations staff cleared some space for the family, and let them have some time away from the media.
Jack and Jackie Harbaugh, the coaches' parents, will now retreat to a room here near the press box. They'll watch the game on TV in private and away from the sight of cameras.
As I had mentioned earlier this week, the Ravens are in their black jerseys and white pants today. The 49ers will be in their white jerseys, gold pants and red socks.
Enjoy this one, folks.
