Ray Lewis returns to practice

After missing practice all last week and sitting out yesterday’s game with a foot injury, Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis returned to the practice field today.

Lewis was a limited participant today, which doesn’t really say much given the practice was merely a walk-through, but still is an indication that Lewis is progressing from his injury.

As I mentioned earlier, Lewis walked off the field without a noticeable limp. He declined an interview request in the locker room shortly after practice.

Also limited today were linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (thigh), who replaced Lewis in the starting lineup yesterday, and safety Haruki Nakamura (thigh).

Cornerback Chris Carr (back) and defensive tackle Art Jones (concussion) missed practice today, while running back Anthony Allen (hamstring) had a full practice.

For the 49ers, a number of offensive starters were limited today: running back Frank Gore (knee), tackle Anthony David (ankle), wide receiver Michael Crabtree (foot) and wide receiver Braylon Edwards (knee).
