Ray Lewis slowly walked back on to the practice field today, wearing a No. 9 jersey (for some reason).
His teammates responded with a slow clap and some mock cheers.
Even the 12-time Pro Bowler isn’t safe from some needling.
Today marked Lewis’ first practice back from a turf toe injury since prior to the Ravens’ game against the 49ers three weeks ago. The linebacker has missed Baltimore’s last four games because of the injury, but the Ravens are hopeful he’ll be able to suit up this Sunday against the Chargers.
Also participating in practice today was cornerback Chris Carr, who has missed the last three games with a back injury.
Absent today, as expected, were cornerback Lardarius Webb (turf toe) and kicker Billy Cundiff (left calf).
