Redding inactive, Doss will suit up

After declaring earlier in the week that he would fight through an ankle injury and play today against the Browns, defensive end Cory Redding will take a seat.

Redding is inactive for this afternoon’s game against Cleveland, marking the first game he’s missed this season. With Redding getting the day off, second-year defensive tackle Art Jones will start for the Ravens.

With Anquan Boldin out because of knee surgery, the Ravens have decided to make rookie wide receiver Tandon Doss active for today’s game. It’s just the sixth time Doss has been active this season, and the first since all the way back in Week 8.

While Doss will suit up this afternoon, rookie wideout LaQuan Williams is inactive. This marks the fourth straight game that Williams has been declared a gameday inactive.

As expected, Lee Evans will start today in Boldin’s place.

Here are the Ravens’ inactives: K Billy Cundiff, WR LaQuan Williams, RB Anthony Allen, DB Danny Gorrer, WR Anquan Boldin, DE Cory Redding and OLB Sergio Kindle.

Here are the Browns’ inactives: WR Jordan Norwood, QB Colt McCoy, DB James Dockery, OL Steve Vallos, DL Kiante Tripp and OL Oniel Cousins.

The Ravens will wear their purple jerseys and black pants today, while the Browns will be in their all-whites.

The purple-and-black combo is my least favorite combo the Ravens roll out, by the way. Just wanted to put that out there.

As we mentioned earlier this week, Shayne Graham will handle the kicking duties for Baltimore today with Cundiff out. Graham showed good leg strength in pregame warm-ups, hitting from up to 52 yards out, but he struggled with his accuracy.

Something to watch today.
