An early look at the Ravens’ 2012 opponents (updated)

With the 2011 regular season now complete, we know what teams the Ravens will face during the 2012 regular season.

Because they won the AFC North, the Ravens will take on the division winners in both the AFC South and AFC East next season. The Ravens will also square off against the entire AFC West and the NFC East.

The game dates and times will be released this offseason, but we do know where each of the games will be held.

The Ravens’ eight home games will come against the Steelers, Bengals, Browns, Broncos, Raiders, Cowboys, Giants and Patriots.

Their eight road games will come against the Steelers, Bengals, Browns, Chiefs, Chargers, Eagles, Redskins and Texans.

Not many cupcakes in there, huh?

This is a tough schedule, but one that presents a few interesting matchups.

The Giants will come to Baltimore for just the second time since the Ravens beat New York in the Super Bowl back in 2001, while we’ll see our first regular season edition of the Battle of the Beltways since 2008.

The Ravens will face Jason Garrett, the coach that turned them down when offered the head coaching job back in 2008, and Hue Jackson, formerly the Ravens’ quarterbacks coach, will bring his Raiders team into Baltimore.

We’ll also get to see Broncos running back Willis McGahee face off against his former team, which should be fun, as well.

UPDATE: A few thousand tickets for the Ravens’ Divisional playoff game will be available for public sale beginning tomorrow, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m.

The tickets can be purchased via TicketMaster or the team’s official website.
