Believe it or not, Ravens minicamps begin in just three short days.
Friday morning will mark the first mandatory team minicamp of the offseason, with the team hitting the field at 10:30 a.m.
All the new rookies will be on hand, from the Ravens' first pick in the 2010 Draft, Sergio Kindle, to the undrafted free agents that were signed shortly after the draft. The vets will obviously be there as well, and I'll be sure to keep a close eye on the newest Ravens (Anquan Boldin, Donte' Stallworth, Cory Redding), as well as the injured cornerbacks (Fabian Washington and Lardarius Webb).
I'll be there with pen, paper and audio recorder in hand, and will have all the updates throughout the weekend.
A couple other quick notes to pass along:
There will be a new field surface at M&T Bank Stadium this year. The Ravens will host a press conference tomorrow to provide details on the new Shaw/Sportexe field and explain why a change is being made.
Also, the Ravens have invited former Alabama running back Roy Upchurch to try out for the team this week, according to Upchurch's agent.
The Crimson Tide back was behind Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram on the depth chart last year, but still managed to rush for 299 yards on the season. Upchurch checks in at 6-0, 214 pounds.
