Many felt that Haloti Ngata's first Pro Bowl appearance last season was a year or two overdue and he had been snubbed in previous seasons.

Well, based on how the NFL's all-star game went for Ngata last year, the Ravens' defensive tackle might have been better off sitting at home during the 2007 and 2008 Pro Bowls.
Ngata suffered a torn left pectoral muscle during last year's Pro Bowl, and he told reporters today that the subsequent surgery to repair the injury will keep him out for the next one and a half to two months.
"Definitely, yeah, it sucks," Ngata told media members this afternoon. "I was actually trying not to hurt somebody else and hurt myself. Whatever, I just try to hurry up and get it done and get back into game shape."
Ngata did not participate in this weekend's minicamp and he said that he isn't at full strength yet, but the 6-4, 350 pound lineman said that he's pleased with how his rehab has gone to this point.
"I feel great," Ngata said. "I've got full range of motion already. I'm just building the strength and getting back into it."
