Ravens: Gaither missed practice due to injury

Jared Gaither wasn't at practice today, but his absence didn't have anything to do with a possible trade or any backlash from his abrupt move to right tackle.

Gaither spent the morning and early afternoon in the training room, receiving treatment for an injury.

The specific injury that Gaither is nursing is unknown. He wasn't available to the media after practice, and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron didn't reveal any information on how the tackle got injured.

"I don't know that it's any one thing," Cameron said. "I think it's maybe a series of thing. I don't think it was one specific play."

Cameron also said he didn't know whether Gaither would be able to return to practice tomorrow for the final day of the opening minicamp.

"We saw him yesterday morning and I think we all know the talent he is and we all know the player can be, it's just a matter of getting him healthy," Cameron said. "We can't wait to get him back, I can tell you that."

With Gaither out, Oniel Cousins got the reps at right tackle with the first team, with Oher remaining at left tackle.

Cameron said he was pleased with how the line, and Cousins in particular, looked today.

"I think the thing that's most pleasing is what I've seen and the confidence I have in Oniel Cousins. We got a glimpse of it last year and he's come in and he's playing well, he's picked up right where he left off. We've got three good, young tackles."
