The Ravens have reached terms with fifth-round wide receiver David Reed on a three-year contract, the team announced.
The Utah product is now the third Ravens draft pick to sign, following defensive lineman Arthur Jones and tight end Dennis Pitta.
Reed, who was taken with the 156th overall pick, will earn slightly more than Jones, who the Ravens selected at 157 overall. Jones reportedly received a $133,500 signing bonus and will earn base salaries of $320,000, $405,000 and $490,000.
Reed impressed in minicamps, and turned heads with his smooth route running and slick hands. He also has experience returning punts, and his special teams abilities will help him as he looks to earn a roster spot in training camp.
After the Reed selection back in April, Ravens director of college scouting Joe Hortiz called the wide receiver one of his favorite guys in the draft.
"David Reed, to me, he's a crafty route runner," Hortiz said. "He's got really good hands, really good body control and excellent toughness. He's 6-foot, 190 pounds, and you'll see him go over the middle of the field like he's 6-2, 220, and he gets hit like he's 6-1, 190.
"He'll get knocked back and snapped, but he jumps right back up and the next play he's catching the ball over the middle of the field. So, he's just a really tough, aggressive wide receiver with some playmaking ability."
