Harbaugh gets fired up

One thing that's great about training camp is getting to see up close how an NFL practice is run.

Today, we got to see up close how an NFL head coach reacts when his players aren't performing to his liking.

Mid-way through this morning's practice, the Ravens were taking part in a live, full-contact drill. The first-team defense was on the field, with the second-team offense lining up across from them.

After a few successful running plays, Harbaugh turned to offensive coordinator Cam Cameron. "They can't stop the run," Harbaugh said.

Cameron called for another run, and undrafted rookie Curtis Steele picked up five more yards on the ground.

That apparently set Harbaugh over the edge.

"This is our first-team defense!" Harbaugh shouted. "You've got to be [expletive] me!

"The first defense is getting their [expletive] kicked by the second offense!" he added. "That is our second-team offensive line!"

After the series was over, Harbaugh called for defensive tackles Brandon McKinney and Terrence Cody, who quietly jogged over to the head coach with their heads hanging.

Harbaugh gave the two men a talking to, and they slowly trudged back over to the sideline.

It's not often that Harbaugh gets that animated during practice, and it's not often that fans and media members get to witness those moments.

That's the beauty of training camp.
