A little less than two weeks after fracturing his skull, linebacker Sergio Kindle is in "great spirits", according to head coach John Harbaugh.
"We had a chance to talk to him last night, and he's in great spirits," Harbaugh told reporters after this morning's practice. "Really had a lot of fun with him. He's in a hospital still full-time, and he said in a few days he's going to move out, move back home and be rehabbing."
Kindle's health became a serious issue two weeks ago, when he fell down two flights of stairs at a friend's house. Harbaugh had said Kindle was at a "function" and made a wrong turn when he awoke at night, resulting in the fall.
Harbaugh said today that while Kindle is still not cleared to fly, he is confident that he will see the linebacker in Baltimore at some point this season.
"Absolutely," Harbaugh said. "It's just matter of whether he can play or not, so we'll just have to see how it shakes out."
As for Kindle's contract negotiations, there is still work to be done. The Texas product is the only second-round pick still unsigned, but the Ravens, Kindle's agent and the league are in discussions about how to proceed. There doesn't appear to be any rush to complete a deal.
"I really don't know where that's at right now, it's just between Ozzie and the committees that are working on that," Harbaugh said. "I'm sure they'll get it all worked out."
