Ray Lewis is an 11-time Pro Bowler, a nine-time All-Pro, a Super Bowl MVP and a two-time AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
He can now add another accomplishment to that list: being selected as the top No. 52 in NFL history by SI.com.
The website assembled the top NFL players at every jersey number from 00 (the Raiders' Jim Otto) to 99 (the Bucs' Warren Sapp), and Lewis was their choice at 52.
The Ravens' linebacker beat out runner-up Steelers and Chiefs center Mike Webster. Oilers linebacker Robert Brazile, Browns center Frank Gatski and Patriots linebacker Ted Johnson were also considered for the honor.
On the page where they list Lewis as the top No. 52, SI.com has a picture of their commemorative Super Bowl cover from early 2001 featuring Lewis.

Deitsch doesn't list Lewis as one of the "easiest choices", which I found surprising until I looked up Webster's career information. The Steelers center was named to nine Pro Bowls, was a nine-time All-Pro, and won four Super Bowl titles.
Not bad, not bad at all. But not good enough to top Lewis.
