O starting slow

The Ravens haven't gotten off to the smoothest start here in Landover.

Through the first quarter of play, they've allowed 96 passing yards (45 of which came on a long bomb from Donovan McNabb to Anthony Armstrong which set the Skins up inside the red zone), they've allowed three third-down conversions, and they trail 3-0.

But it's the play of the offense which is the most surprising at this point.

After 15 minutes, the Ravens have 43 yards of total offense, Joe Flacco is just 3-of-6 for 20 yards, and Flacco and Ray Rice have each fumbled once.

Flacco underthrew a wide open Derrick Mason on a comeback route, Rice has yet to get into a rhythm, and Michael Oher had a false start penalty which set the Ravens back five yards and eventually forced a punt.

On the positive side, Fabian Washington looks very smooth in his first game action as he comes back from a torn ACL. The cornerback got the start tonight and has played well, showing no rust after a nine-month layoff.

Also, the Ravens special teams have been fantastic to this point.

Shayne Graham's opening kickoff went for a touchback, Jalen Parmele returned a kickoff 32 yards, and Sam Koch pinned the Redskins inside their own five on a punt.

Now it's time for the offense to pick things up a notch.
