Ravens doing the passing, Giants doing the running

Through the first quarter of play, the Ravens have had 16 designed passing plays to only one run.

We were all expecting more of a passing-oriented attack this year, but I don't think anyone could have predicted anything like this.

The Ravens have come out in a three-wide receiver set every play so far, they've gone without a huddle most of the time, and after going three-and-out on their first possession, they battled back with a 13-play, 62-yard drive which ended in a 25-yard field goal by Billy Cundiff.

Joe Flacco has gone 9-of-14 for 103 yards so far, and has constantly tried to push tempo and get the offense moving.

Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, the Ravens have allowed 51 rushing yards through just 15 minutes.

Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs have been running the ball so effectively that it's bringing back memories of that 2008 slaughter up in the Meadowlands in which the G-Men dominated the Ravens' defense on the ground.

The Ravens toughened up when it mattered late in the quarter, however, stuffing Bradshaw on back-to-back plays and forcing the Giants to turn the ball over on downs inside the Baltimore 20-yard-line.
