The T.J. Houshmandzadeh acquisition has directly affected Mark Clayton, who is now leaving Baltimore.
Clayton has been traded to the Rams for a draft pick, the Ravens announced this afternoon.
UPDATE: It looks like the Ravens and Rams will swap picks in a round instead of Baltimore receiving an additional selection.
The Ravens also officially announced their signing of Houshmandzadeh, and the former Bengals and Seahawks receiver will take Clayton's place on the roster.
Boy, the news is coming fast and furious today.
Houshmandzadeh is definitely an upgrade over Clayton as a possession receiver, and will give the Ravens a tough, physical presence over the middle.
On a personal note, I wish Clayton nothing but the best in St. Louis.
He might not have panned out quite how fans had hoped on the field, but he's a class act off the field and was one of the nicest guys in the Ravens locker room. Hope he has success with the Rams.
