Tight end Todd Heap missed practice yesterday with a shoulder strain, but he remains optimistic that he'll be able to suit up and play when the Ravens face the Bengals in a big divisional matchup on Sunday.
"It's getting better every day," Heap said of the shoulder. "Hopefully, it continues going on that track."
Heap suffered the injury late in Monday night's win over the Jets, when he dove to bring in a Joe Flacco pass. The two-time Pro Bowl tight end made a highlight-reel grab, but landed awkwardly on his right shoulder.
He had the shoulder wrapped in ice after the game Monday night, then was held out of practice yesterday.
Heap says that the range of motion in his shoulder is getting better.
"Certain injuries you just got to let them heal," Heap said. "This is kind of one of those. You got to let it get back. The way it's been going right now, I feel good about it and the direction I'm heading. It's getting better."
