A week after cutting Ken Hamlin, the Ravens are bringing the veteran safety back.
Surprisingly, they're letting go of a four-time Pro Bowler to make room for Hamlin on the roster.
The Ravens announced this morning that they have terminated the contract of defensive end Trevor Pryce, a 14-year veteran who has spent the last five years in Baltimore.
Pryce was a starter his first few years with the Ravens, and had a whopping 13 sacks in 2005, his first season in Baltimore, but he had seen his role shrink in recent seasons.
He only started seven games last year before being replaced in the starting lineup by Dwan Edwards. He still managed to lead the Ravens in sacks last year with 6.5.
This year, he was backing up Cory Redding and saw most of his action on third downs through the first three games. He had yet to post a sack and only made tackle this season.
The move comes at an interesting time, considering Redding suffered a concussion last Sunday against the Browns.
Pryce took a $2.5 million pay cut before the season, but apparently that wasn't enough to keep him in Baltimore.
