On Monday, Ravens fullback Le'Ron McClain made a comment about how he was happy the Jets had signed cornerback Darrelle Revis.
Revis' presence, McClain said, meant that the Jets would have "no excuses", presumably for when the Ravens beat them on Monday night.
Predictably, Jets coach Rex Ryan fired back, because, well, that's what Rex Ryan does.
"I don't know what's wrong with LeRon," Ryan told reporters yesterday. "He said something about there's no excuses ... He must have us confused with somebody else. I don't think we make any excuses. Last year, we didn't have our starting 11 guys on defense for a single game and yet we led the league.
"We don't make excuses. All we do is produce ... And that's what we're planning to do Monday night."
And away we go.
