Terrell Suggs hasn't talked much in the days leading up to games so far this season, giving us fewer opportunities to pass along quotes from the always entertaining linebacker.
Yesterday, Suggs met with reporters and had a couple interesting comments on his controversial penalty last week and why the Ravens' defense is playing so well to this point.
Asked about the $15,000 fine that head coach John Harbaugh received for contact with an official following Suggs' roughing the passer penalty last Sunday, Suggs said he appreciates his coach standing up for him and having his back.
"I didn't see the contact, so I can't say whether or not he should have been fined for it, but I think we all kind of feel the same way about the call," Suggs said. "He showed it, and he went to bat for his player. I probably would have gotten the same fine if something like that happened to my coach."
Suggs was also asked about the play of the Ravens' front-seven through the first two games of the season.
The outside linebacker responded by making a joke at the expense of fellow linebacker Ray Lewis
"We've got a middle linebacker who can ride a Raven-bird about as big as a 747," Suggs said, referring to Lewis' first Old Spice commercial. "So when he do that and can blow up Saturn, you've got a pretty good chance of winning on Sundays."
