It's over, ladies and gentlemen.
The preseason is now behind us. And not a minute too soon.
It felt to me like tonight's preseason finale against the Rams went on for about 17 hours, and it might have felt the same way for Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.
Harbaugh saw his defense give up touchdowns on back-to-back drives to start the game, and before the contest was 13 minutes old, the Ravens trailed 14-0.
An interception return for a touchdown by Dannell Ellerbe and two Troy Smith rushing touchdowns made things interesting in the fourth quarter (if you call a six-point game featuring only third-string players "interesting"), but the Ravens couldn't piece together a successful two-minute drive late in the fourth quarter, and they fell to the Rams 27-21.
The Ravens finish the preseason 3-1, and will now have until Saturday at 4 p.m. to determine which 53 players are worthy of spots on their active roster.
I'll be back with the winner and losers from tonight's game in a bit.
