The Ravens might be without Todd Heap the rest of the afternoon after their Pro Bowl tight end was on the receiving end of a helmet-to-helmet hit by Patriots safety Brandon Meriweather.
Word out of New England is that Heap suffered a shoulder stinger and his return is questionable.
Joe Flacco lofted a ball over the middle of the field, and the pass flew over the head of Heap, Flacco's intended receiver.
Meriweather flew in, led with his helmet, and delivered a blow to Heap's head. Heap's helmet snapped back, and he stayed down on the field for a few minutes after the hit.
You can bet that Meriweather will be receiving a bill from the NFL this week.
Heap eventually walked off the field under his own power, and luckily, he doesn't appear to have a head injury.
UPDATE: Remarkably, Heap has returned to the game.
The Ravens' tight end is back on the field just a drive after taking that hit from Meriweather. Good to see Heap is not seriously injured.
