Rookie defensive tackle Arthur Jones has yet to suit up for a game this season, but the Ravens' fifth-round pick believes today's his day.
"Look out for me tomorrow night at 4:15pm. time to get my feet wet," Jones wrote on his Twitter account last night.
Asked by fan if that meant he'd be active against the Buccaneers, Jones replied, "yessirr...."
Defensive end Cory Redding is questionable for today's game with an elbow injury, and if Redding is not healthy enough to play, the Ravens could be looking for an extra defensive lineman.
They also might want to have another defensive tackle active for this game because of the running back they'll be facing - Tampa Bay's bruising 6-foot, 247 pound LeGarrette Blount.
Jones, who played his college ball at Syracuse, expects to be the guy.
My guess, however, is that the Ravens aren't too fond of Jones announcing on his Twitter account that he'll play today.
I understand Jones' excitement, but that might not be the best move for a rookie in search of the first playing time of his career.
