Todd Heap only got to enjoy the Ravens-Steelers game for a single play.
On the game's first play from scrimmage, Heap pulled up with a right hamstring injury after Joe Flacco looked for him on a fly route.
The pass fell incomplete, and Heap immediately turned to the sideline for medical attention. The Ravens' two-time Pro Bowl tight end went straight into the locker room with trainers, and will not return tonight.
The onus will now fall on rookie tight ends Ed Dickson and Dennis Pitta to fill in for Heap, who has been one of the Ravens' most consistent pass catchers this season, and who is a solid blocker as well.
Dickson's night did not start as he would have hoped; he dropped what would have been somewhere around a 30-yard completion from Flacco on the Ravens' second drive of the game.
