A handful of hours after leaving yesterday's practice with a groin injury, rookie cornerback Jimmy Smith tweeted that he expects to be back on the field fairly soon.
"Ill be fine," Smith wrote last night. "its a minor (injury).. I will be playin in the preseason don't worry"
When told by a fan that head coach John Harbaugh might not appreciate Smith commenting on his injury status via Twitter, Smith backtracked a bit.
"I'm not injured I never said I was," Smith tweeted. "ill be practicing."
Smith, the Ravens first-round pick this year, has been getting reps with the second-team defense in practice, behind veterans Domonique Foxworth and Lardarius Webb. The Colorado product has also been seeing time as the Ravens' top nickel back.
