The Ravens have released veteran fullback Jason McKie, the team announced Friday morning.
McKie became expendable when the Ravens signed fullback Vonta Leach to a three-year contract on Monday.
Originally signed by the Ravens in late November of last season, McKie did not appear in a game for Baltimore. He was a gameday inactive for the final five contests of the regular season as well as the Ravens' Wild Card playoff victory at Kansas City.
The eight-year veteran was released by the team the week leading up to the divisional round game against the Steelers, but was re-signed this offseason.
