Halfway to the cycle and hobbled (updated)

Felix Pie just tripled to the fence in left-center field, reaching third base without drawing a throw.

All he needed was the single and double. The hardest work was out of the way.

We didn't expect Pie to get two more at-bats in the second exhibition game, and it became a moot point when Matt Angle pinch-ran for him after two pitches were thrown to Robert Andino.

Pie appeared to be favoring his leg as he pulled into third base, and Juan Samuel immediately checked on him. Now he'll receive some unwanted attention - the medical kind.

Keeping Pie in the lineup figures to be a challenge with a logjam in the outfield. Keeping him healthy could be just as difficult.

Koji Uehara breezed through the third inning, throwing six of his eight pitches for strikes.
