If you’re attending tomorrow’s game...

The ballpark opens to the public at 11 a.m. for the 1:05 p.m. exhibition opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. You can watch batting practice and the pre-game preparations. Work on that tan, too, while you’re at it.

Tickets are still available by visiting www.orioles.com, calling 1-888-329-3365 or stopping by the Ed Smith Stadium box office.

All five Sarasota County Commissioners - Joe Barbetta, Carolyn Mason, Nora Patterson, Shannon Staub and Jon Thaxton - will throw out the ceremonial first pitches.

They’ll each be on a strict pitch count - one.

Billy Johnson beat out more than 70 applicants to become the stadium’s new PA announcer.

Johnson invented a motorcycle wheel cleaning unit called “Wheel Easy” that was distributed by Harley-Davidson. And as soon as I can come up with a joke, I’ll post it here.

Along with the usual ballpark eats, you also can dine on Phillips Seafood Maryland crab cakes.

Don’t be shy about sending one up to the press box with my name on it.

Seriously, though, let me know if you’re showing up and what you think of the complex.
