Tillman’s second inning (updated)

Three up, three down.

If you’re doing the math, you know it’s six up, six down for the night.

Tillman fell behind, 3-1, to Ryan Doumit before getting a called third strike. He got two quick strikes on Steve Pearce and induced a slow bouncer to Miguel Tejada, who barehanded the ball and rifled the throw to first. Brandon Moss also fell behind, 0-2, went to a full count and flied to right.

Tillman threw 33 pitches tonight, 22 for strikes. He struck out three batters, and only one ball left the infield.

Plate umpire Damien Biel isn’t messing around. If it’s close, it’s a strike.

Update: Miguel Tejada lined a double over center fielder John Raynor’s head, moved to third on Matt Wieters’ long fly ball to right-center and scored on Luke Scott’s drive to the warning track in right. The Orioles lead, 1-0.

Garrett Atkins just singled to center with two outs.
