SARASOTA, Fla. - Wei-Yin Chen makes his final exhibition start today. He hasn't appeared in a Grapefruit League game since holding the Twins to one run over five innings March 22. Most recently, he allowed four runs (three earned) and six hits while facing 26 batters in a minor league game at Twin Lakes Park.
James Shields is scheduled to start for the Rays.
For the Orioles:
Endy Chavez LF
J.J. Hardy SS
Nick Markakis RF
Adam Jones CF
Matt Wieters C
Nick Johnson DH
Mark Reynolds 3B
Chris Davis 1B
Robert Andino 2B
Wei-Yin Chen LHP
Reliever Matt Lindstrom is starting a minor league game today at 10 a.m. and is scheduled to throw one inning to test his right hamstring. He threw off a mound Friday.
Lindstrom keeps insisting that he's fine, but he promised to update reporters when he returned to the Ed Smith Stadium complex.
For the Rays:
Today's game will air on MASN, which apparently needs 500 people to be here for the broadcast. And none of them have heard of carpooling, which explains the five-mile long row of vehicles parked along 11th St., and why I had to walk five miles after arriving at the complex this morning. Happens for every televised game.
Seriously, people, share a ride. I'm not a cardio guy.
