Davis in tonight’s lineup, Urrutia is not (with Rangers lineup)

Chris Davis remains at first base for the Orioles tonight after fouling a ball off his right ankle last night and playing in obvious pain.

Henry Urrutia is on the bench against Rangers left-hander Martin Perez, with Danny Valencia serving as the designated hitter.

Since June 25, 2012, Chris Tillman is 20-6 and has the second-highest winning percentage (.769) among American League starters, trailing only Max Scherzer (23-3, .885). Tillman is 8-1 in 10 starts since May 24, tying him with Bartolo Colon (8-1) for the most wins in the majors over that span.

Tillman’s 8.38 runs of support per game in those outings is the most in the majors.

The Orioles are 15-8 (.652) vs. the American League West this season, their second-best winning percentage (32-12, .727 in 1997) against the West since each league went to three divisions in 1994.

In the last seven games since July 10, the Orioles have gone 6-1 and their starting pitchers have earned each decision, posting a 3.13 ERA in 46 innings with six quality starts.

Down on the farm, Kevin Gausman is making his first start tonight for Triple-A Norfolk since being optioned. He made one relief appearance, allowing one run in four innings and striking out six.
