Manny Machado ran six sprints at 90 feet today in Sarasota and didn’t experience any issues with his left knee or calf. The first full-speed session was a rousing success.

Machado eventually will increase the distance to 180 feet before he’s cleared to play in extended spring training games.

Down on the farm, Triple-A Norfolk catcher Caleb Joseph is batting .423 (11-for-26) during a six-game hitting streak, with three doubles, one home run and six RBIs over that stretch. Joseph is 6-for-10 against left-handers this season.
