Orioles announce fall instructional league roster and schedule

Hurricane Irma delayed the start of the Orioles’ fall instructional league. The storm couldn’t deny it.

Games will be held at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota beginning on Monday and running through Oct. 10. They’re free and open to the public.

The instructional league program focuses on specific individual development while providing additional playing time to accelerate a player’s progress through the minor league system.

The staff includes director of player development Brian Graham, coordinator of minor league pitching John Wasdin, coordinator of minor league hitting Jeff Manto, coordinator of minor league catching Don Werner, coordinator of minor league infield Dave Anderson, pitching coaches Dave Schmidt, Blaine Beatty, Justin Lord and Wilson Alvarez, and coaches Gary Kendall, Buck Britton, Butch Davis, Jose Hernandez, Kyle Moore, Elbis Morel, Patrick Leyland, Ramon Caraballo, Steel Russell and Tim Raines.
