Cobb Gray Sidebar.jpgOrioles starters have five quality starts in five games on the road trip and they’ve posted a 2.27 ERA, but a .190 team average is mainly responsible for a 2-3 record. Nine quality starts have been registered over the past 10 games, but the Orioles are 2-8.

The team’s 31 quality starts this season are tied for fourth in the American League and fifth in the majors. But the starters have received 137 runs of support, the fewest in the majors.

Overall, Orioles pitchers have received 226 runs of support this season, the fewest in the AL and second-fewest in the majors behind the Marlins (223).

The Orioles released right-hander Perci Garner, according to Baseball America’s transactions. Garner, signed to a minor league contract on Dec. 1, was down at extended spring training.
