Orioles lineup vs. Rangers

Miguel Castro gets the start today for the Orioles as they close out the first half against the Rangers.

Mike Wright Jr. also is expected to pitch behind Castro.

Joey-Rickard-running-white-sidebar.jpgTrey Mancini is on the bench, but he’s fine. Manager Buck Showalter said he wanted to get Joey Rickard in the lineup.

Danny Valencia is the designated hitter. Mark Trumbo is in right field.

Showalter is deciding whether Andrew Cashner starts Saturday in Toronto, followed by Alex Cobb on Sunday, or whether he reverses the order.

Kevin Gausman starts on July 23 and Yefry Ramírez starts on the 24th.

I reported yesterday that Dylan Bundy opens the second half by starting Friday night in Toronto.

Last night’s win was the 26th 1-0 game in the history of Camden Yards. The Orioles are 14-12 in 1-0 games there since the ballpark opened in 1992.

On this date in 1960, Brooks Robinson became the first of four Orioles to hit for the cycle. He went
5-for-5 with three RBIs in a 5-2 win over the White Sox at Comiskey Park.
