Orioles and Indians lineups

CLEVELAND - Jonathan Villar is playing shortstop today for the series finale against the Indians at Progressive Field.

The Orioles’ bench includes Tim Beckham, who gets the day off.

Mancini-runs-gray-sidebar.jpgTrey Mancini is batting second behind Cedric Mullins. Craig Gentry gets another start in right field.

Jace Peterson is playing second base.

Mullins is 10-for-28 (.357) since the Orioles selected his contract from Triple-A Norfolk, and five of his hits are for extra bases.

Dylan Bundy and Alex Cobb had compete games this season. The last time that the Orioles registered two or more was 2014 with Kevin Gausman, Miguel Gonzalez and Chris Tillman.

Yesterday’s win was the first for the Orioles at Progressive Field since May 29, 2016.

On this date in 1961, left-hander Billy Hoeft one-hit the Senators at Griffith Stadium in a 5-0 win. Bob “Rocky” Johnson led off the fifth inning with a hit and Hoeft retired the last 15 batters.
