Nats post 7-6 win to even series

After pitching to an ERA of 2.77 over his previous four starts, the Orioles staked Brad Bergesen to a 6-3 lead today.

But he could not hold it.

The Nationals scored four runs in the sixth off Bergesen and Mark Hendrickson to rally for a 7-6 lead and win over the Orioles on Saturday afternoon.

The Nats had not held a lead in this series until their five-hit sixth frame today which featured a Roger Bernadina RBI triple, an Alberto Gonzalez pinch-hit RBI single and Adam Dunn's two-run single. Matt Capps retired the side in order in the ninth to improve to 16 for 16 in saves on the year.

Bergesen allowed six runs and 11 hits over five innings.
