The Orioles' run of solid starting pitching that had carried them to four straight wins over playoff contenders ended this afternoon at Camden Yards.
Alfredo Simon gave up six runs and eight hits over five innings as the Angels beat the Orioles 11-2 at Camden Yards to keep the Orioles from their sixth series sweep of the season.
Angels leadoff hitter Erick Aybar went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two homers, five runs scored and four RBIs for Los Angeles which also got a two-run double from Howie Kendrick and two-run homer from Vernon Wells.
Vladimir Guerrero continued his hot hitting for the Orioles with an RBI triple and solo homer. It was his 13th homer of the year and first triple since July 2 of last year.
That was Guerrero's 449th career homer which ties for 35th on the all-time list. He is now batting .449 (22-for-49) with eight multi-hit games over his last 12 contests.
Nick Markakis went 2-for-3 to snap an 0-for-18 stretch and Chris Davis had two singles in four at-bats.
Jered Weaver gave up two runs over six innings to get the win, improving to 18-7 with an ERA of 2.41.
The Orioles went 4-2 on this homestand and are now 62-89 on the year as they head out for the season's last road trip which begins Monday with a day-night doubleheader in Boston.
