The starting lineups for Game 5 in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. - Lefty Jake Pettit has made 11 starts this season for the Single-A Frederick Keys, including one in the playoffs, and Frederick is 10-1 in those starts.

The Keys hope that winning trend continues tonight when Pettit pitches the fifth and deciding game against Potomac in the Carolina League playoffs.

Tonight’s winner will advance to host Kinston tomorrow night in Game 1 of the Mills Cup championship series.

Pettit began this year with Single-A Delmarva, going 5-4 with an ERA of 4.42. But since the 42nd-round, 2010 draft pick joined Frederick, he has been much better. In 10 regular season starts, he went 7-0 with an ERA of 1.62 and batting average against of .213.

In Game 1 of this series Wednesday, Pettit gave up just three hits and one run against the Nationals over six innings as Frederick won a rain-shortened game 5-1.

Right-hander Paul Demny is slated to start for Potomac. He went 10-10 with an ERA of 4.32 in the regular season and then gave up five runs and six hits in 5 1/3 in game one as Miguel Abreu hit a three-run homer and Brian Ward a solo shot against him.
