Three of four O’s minor league clubs are in first place

The Orioles’ four full-season minor league teams continue to all have winning records and three of the four are either alone in first place or tied for first. The four have a combined 40-30 (.571) record.

* Triple-A Norfolk is 10-8 in second place
* Double-A Bowie is 10-8 in first place
* Single-A Frederick is 9-7 in first place
* Single-A Delmarva is 11-7, tied for first place

Bowie’s offense has been pretty amazing with a .303 team batting average and 126 runs scored so far - and that is an average of 7.0 per game. The next highest-scoring team in the Eastern League is at 111 runs.

Bowie is actually the highest-scoring team in all of pro baseball. The Baysox have scored more than any other club in major league or minor league baseball. The next closest team to the Baysox’s 126 runs is Sacramento with 124.

In a Baysox roster move today, outfielder Kyle Hudson was placed on the disabled list and Brandon Waring was activated to the roster. Hudson left Friday’s game with a strained groin. He was batting .364 over 16 games. Waring was out with an oblique injury and has not yet played this season.

Delmarva has hit well also with a team average of .289 and 91 runs scored to go with a team ERA of 3.45 that ranks best among O’s farm teams.
