After his game-winning RBI single in the 12th inning today, Vladimir Guerrero talked with reporters in the O's clubhouse with help from O's staffer Rudy Arias, who served as interpreter.
Can you talk about your game-winning hit?
"I was trying to look for a good pitch to hit and get a base hit. Nothing to pull or home runs, just trying to get good contact. I ran hard. I didn't know. Made sure I tried to beat the (possible) double play."
On the Orioles getting back to .500.
"I'm very happy about that because that's something we've been working on all year. Got to keep working hard."
On the intentional walk to Nick Markakis before he batted.
"I got lucky that happened and I got the base hit."
Guerrero is now batting .380 with a homer and eight RBIs during an 11-game batting streak. He is hitting .369 over his last 15 games.
Starting pitcher Jeremy Guthrie, who did not get a decision, talked about the victory.
"It was a good team win. We come back like that after being in a hole was huge. Nolan topped it off with a big home run. It's a good team win. We are really excited about the sweep and being back at .500 and we'll see if we can continue to keep the momentum going from here."

How about your day on the mound?
"I don't know how to evaluate it. I feel good about it. My stuff was as good as it has been all season coming out of that first inning I felt like I could have pitched a complete game and had really good results. I ran into a tough inning though and so from there on it was just try to re-establish that feel I had in the first inning."
He was asked how he held his composure after Kansas City scored four runs in the second inning.
"Just do the same thing we do every start, nothing different. Unfortunately it was four runs but you try to treat it as thought it is zero runs and move on from there. My main focus after that was let's get some quick outs, let's be aggressive down in the zone and see if we can get some ground balls, early ground balls."
