Just a couple pregame updates: Ryan Zimmerman is available to pinch-hit today, but Jim Riggleman is still placing restrictions on his running. Zimmerman said he ran the bases before the game today, still not at a sprint, but added his right hamstring is feeling better every day. Riggleman said he expects Zimmerman to play at some point in the series against the Cubs, but added that could be dictated somewhat by the weather (temperatures in the high 30s and low 40s are in the forecast at night).

Willie Harris is also out of the lineup today after re-aggravating his sore right knee on a couple of acrobatic catches yesterday against the Dodgers. He was limping around quite a bit this morning and had his knee bandaged, so I’d expect the Nationals will try to stay away from him today if they can.

Pudge Rodriguez is in the lineup today, playing through a sore back, but he said yesterday he’s healthy enough to play.

Back with the live thread shortly.
