A couple minor-league updates

Two quick items for you from the minors:

--Trevor Holder, the Nationals’ third-round pick in 2009, was promoted from Single-A Hagerstown to Single-A Potomac and will start for the P-Nats tonight. A couple have asked why Holder was promoted over Daniel Rosenbaum; Holder was at Potomac last year, so he’s more likely to get back to that level before Rosenbaum, having already been there.

--Outfielder Michael Burgess will represent the P-Nats in the Carolina League All-Star Game next Tuesday in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Burgess is hitting .266, but has a .351 on-base percentage and has reduced his number of strikeouts (54 in 62 games this year, compared to 135 in 131 last year). He’s homered five times and driven in 44 runs.
