Zimmerman says wrist injury not bothering him

Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman has just four hits in his last 34 at-bats, and struck out six times in the Nationals’ two weekend losses to the White Sox. But Zimmerman said a nagging left hand injury isn’t to blame for the struggles.

Ziimmerman has been playing with his wrist taped, and had an MRI on his hand last week. But he rejected any notion the injury is hurting him at the plate.

“It’s not a problem,” Zimmerman said. “If I felt like I was hurting the team, I wouldn’t be in there.”
