6th inning: The Play Michael Morse campaign gets some more momentum. Starting in right field tonight, Morse has homered twice tonight, staking the Nationals to a 5-1 lead in the fifth over the Brewers.

Morse is hitting .342 with a 1.045 OPS this season. He’s the Nationals’ only strong right-handed bat on the bench, and the fact he’s taken so well to pinch hitting probably doesn’t help his case for more playing time. The only way it probably happens more regularly is if Adam Dunn gets traded and the Nationals play Morse there. Still, he’s making a strong case.
